High pressure has kept skies clear for our Thanksgiving day. Winds will briefly become southerly as this high tracks to our east, allowing for temperatures to warm a few degrees tomorrow.
Today was a chilly one with highs in the mid to upper 40s. Western Kansas sat a few degrees warmer thanks to southerly winds during the afternoon but we all cool off under clear skies tonight.
Temperatures drop below freezing by sunrise. Northwest Kansas will fall to the teens while the rest of the region holds on to the low 20s. Patchy fog will be possible across western Kansas before sunrise so make sure you have your headlights on as you head out the door.
Temperatures climb to the 50s across western Kansas tomorrow thanks to southerly flow. Central Kansas will reach the mid to upper 40s with sunny skies and winds becoming southerly by the afternoon.
We hold steady in the mid-40s through the weekend. For those planning to go shopping on Black Friday or Small Business Saturday, be sure to bundle up because it will be chilly despite the sunshine.
Early Saturday morning brings the opportunity for snowfall to northeastern Kansas. Models are in disagreement on how far west the snow will start, but the far northeastern counties in the KSN viewing area could see a few flakes before sunrise on Saturday. Accumulations are not likely as ground temperatures will be above freezing.
Temperatures begin a warming trend by the start of next week. The first week of December will be above average with highs climbing into the upper 50s by the middle of the week.
We continue to see a warm trend through the end of next weekend with above average temperatures keeping highs in the upper 50s.
