It was warm today but temperatures tumble for the start of the week. Highs reached into the 50s and 60s this afternoon. Northern Kansas saw cooler temperatures thanks to the cold front cutting across the state.
This front will bring in northerly flow overnight causing temperatures to drop by the start of Monday. Lows tonight fall back into the 20s and 30s by daybreak.
Winds stay strong out of the north tomorrow. This will continue the flow of colder air into the Sunflower State. Gusts from 30-40 MPH will be possible.
Highs tomorrow will be a shock to the system after the warmth we have seen this weekend. Highs will be nearly 20 degrees cooler, only reaching into the mid-40s for most across the state.
With dryer air following behind the passing boundary, conditions will be favorable to hit the road over the next two days. Many people will be traveling this week ahead of the holidays, and some might run into moisture come Wednesday evening.
Wednesday is when our next cold front will arrive. This boundary is expected to try to squeeze out some moisture across the Sunflower State. Precipitation amounts will be limited but snowfall is possible as temperatures drop below freezing Wednesday night. Travel conditions are not expected to be impacted as ground temperatures will not have time to cool, causing any flurries that fly to melt on contact.
A reinforcing shot of cold air arrives for Thanksgiving with highs in the low 40s. Temperatures stay cool and below average through the start of December.
