BEREA, Ohio – A 13-year-old Berea girl called police at about 9 p.m. Nov. 15 and said that an unidentified man gave her a cookie with a pill inside at McDonald’s, 350 West Bagley Road.
The girl said she and a friend were sitting in a booth inside McDonald’s. A young male was sitting in the booth behind them.
The male asked the girls if they wanted his cookies. The victim said yes. Once the male handed the cookies to the girl, he ran away, heading westbound on West Bagley toward Lindberg Boulevard.
The girl took a bite of the cookie and felt a liquid flow down the back of her throat. She noticed something hard in the cookie and spit the cookie out. That’s when she saw the pill.
The girl said she didn’t know what the pill was and threw it out before calling police. She said she felt OK and declined medical attention.
Police checked McDonald’s security video. They saw the male but couldn’t see his face because he was wearing a hoodie.
A McDonald’s worker said she didn’t know the male but believed he was a regular customer. Police asked the worker and her co-workers to call them if the male ever returned.
