Strike at the SNCF and snow: beware of disruptions this Thursday in Ile-de-France on the Transilien and RER lines

Snow expected and strike movement at the SNCF this Thursday, November 21: if you can, favor teleworking.

On the social movement side, in ÃŽle-de-France, the disruptions will mainly focus on the RER D and the Transilien line R, strongholds of the SUD-Rail union, with only one train in three.

One train in two is planned on the RER B and lines H and N of the Transilien. North of RER B, 1 train out of 2 to the north (from Gare du Nord) and 3 trains out of 4 to the south (from Châtelet-les-Halles). The interconnection is maintained at Gare du Nord.

Normal traffic on the RER A

The RER C and E will also have a reduced service with two trains out of three and three trains out of four respectively on average. Apart from lines J and U of the Transilien, traffic will be normal, in particular on the RER A, the busiest line in the network in ÃŽle-de-France and on all tram lines in the region operated by SNCF. The RATP network will operate normally.

In detail, on the RER D, on the Creil-Corbeil axis between Oise and Essonne and Goussainville-Melun between Val-d’Oise and Seine-et-Marne: plan for 2 trains out of 5. On the Corbeil-Malesherbes axis, 1 train out of 3 (only during morning and evening peaks). On the Juvisy-Corbeil route via Ris: no trains. On the Corbeil-Melun route via Saint-Fargeau, no train is announced. On Line R, the Paris-Montereau-Montargis axis will have 2 trains out of 3. And on the Melun-Montereau axis, no trains.

Strike at the SNCF and snow: beware of disruptions this Thursday in Ile-de-France on the Transilien and RER lines

The four unions of the SNCF – CGT-Cheminots, Unsa-Ferroviaire, SUD-Rail and CFDT-Cheminots – called for a strike to denounce the dismantling of Fret SNCF decided to avoid having to repay state aid that the Commission European Union considers illegal.

The unions are demanding a moratorium on the dismantling process, which the government and SNCF management have rejected. The unions are also concerned about the opening to competition in passenger transport with, as a result, a modification of the rules governing the organization of railway workers’ working time. Finally, they are calling for a multi-year programming law to finance the maintenance of the network. The inter-union also threatens to launch a renewable strike from December 11.

A disrupted situation in public transport to which the consequences of the weather may be added. Ile-de-France has in fact been placed on orange snow and ice alert by Météo France for this Thursday, between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
