CLEVELAND, Ohio — An argument Thursday evening led to the shooting death of a 24-year-old woman and the suspected gunman also is dead after he turned the gun on himself while being chased by officers, police say.
Another man, 26, and a woman, 21, also were wounded in the shooting on the 2700 block of Natchez Avenue in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood on the city’s West Side, police say. Both were taken to hospitals, with one of the victims in stable condition and the other in serious but stable condition, police say.
The shooting was reported at about 5 p.m. The male suspect, 22, arrived at a residence on Natchez Avenue and began arguing with the 24-year-old woman. He then fired multiple shots at the victim, police say.
The suspect still was on the scene when officers arrived. The suspect ran from the scene and was being chased by officers when he suddenly took his own life, police say.
The 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected gunman was taken to a hospital but died of his wounds.
The shooting remains under investigation.
