Sport: The winner was American Scottie Sheffler, who finished on 277 strokes, with the Swedish debutant in second place on 281 strokes.

It is the first time Åberg plays on the Augusta course, which is known as one of the toughest on the tour.

Second place means that the 24-year-old from Eslöv in Scania can take home 23.5 million Swedish kroner.

– To be here and feel the nerves on the last holes… it was a dream come true. It was surreal. I am so proud of myself and my entire team, says Åberg, according to the report Aftonbladet.

Viktor Hovland quit the US Masters on Friday after a round of 81. It was a worsening of his career-worst from the round of 80 in the European Open in 2018. The Oslo boy eventually finished eight strokes over par, two strokes short of the cut.
