Sport: In front of packed stands on the center court, Swiatek took his 12th straight victory on clay. She is the first woman since Serena Williams in 2013 to win the major tournaments in Madrid and Rome in the same year. Also in Madrid, Sabalenka was an opponent in the final.

Swiatek becomes the favorite to win Roland-Garros for the third time in a row, and fourth overall.

– Another final, another great fight. After Madrid I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Our duels can always tilt either way, Swiatek said after Saturday’s victory.

– We’ll see how it goes in Roland-Garros.

Swiatek has beaten Sabalenka eight times in eleven attempts.

The final in Madrid was a three-set thriller, but in Rome Swiatek won clearly. Still, the numbers lie a little. Sabalenka abused seven break points spread over two games in the 2nd set.

– In the first set I did not play well at all. In the second I tried to be a bit more aggressive and put her under pressure. I had a couple of opportunities that I didn’t manage to seize, said Sabalenka.

On Sunday, Alexander Zverev plays Nicolas Jarry in the men’s final. Casper Ruud quit the tournament early after having trouble with his back.
