BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 27 – Several gas stations in three districts are scheduled to be temporarily closed for inspection and research work on measuring devices, i.e. fuel pumps for the month of December.
The Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy in a statement issued here, stated that they will carry out inspections and research on the accuracy of oil pump type measuring devices at stations -gas station.
According to SDT, the measure is in line with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151, where an accuracy reading check, valid and registered with the SDT Unit is required for the use of weights and measures for trade purposes.
Taking into account the safety and well-being of the public as well as the workforce involved throughout the inspection and investigation work, the gas stations will be closed from 9 am until completion, which is estimated to take around 2 hours.
The inspection and research on the gas stations is a routine inspection that is conducted three times a year.
In connection with that, the schedule of temporary closure of petrol stations for inspection and accuracy reading work in December 2024 from 9 to 11 am for the Brunei Muara District on December 5 at TAIB Beribi Petrol Station, December 7 at Syarikat Kerjasama Kampung Petrol Station Tanjong Nangka (Satenaga), Kampung Tanjong Nangka, December 9 at Pengalian Petrol Station, Kampung Kapok and December 10 at Tanmiah Company Petrol Station, Kampung Limau Manis, for Belait District on December 12 at Lumut Service Petrol Station and on December 17 at Kampung Sungai Teraban (KSST) Berhad Petrol Station, Kampung Sungai Teraban and for Tutong District on December 23 at PHA Bakar bin Jambol Petrol Station, Kampung Suran.
