Working life: The Norwegian Workers’ Union and NHO Reiseliv will soon start mediation with Riksmekler Mats Ruland.

– We have not come so far that we have a strike ready. But it is reasonable to believe that Dyreparken will be well affected by a strike, says union secretary of the Norwegian Workers’ Union, Terje Mikkelsen to The stock exchange.

The unionized zookeepers at Dyreparken in Kristiansand believe that they receive worse pay than unorganized colleagues.

The zoo’s managing director Per Arnstein Aamot rejects this, but Mikkelsen stands his ground, and the parties must now ask for assistance from the Ombudsman.

Riksmekler Mats Ruland confirms to Børsen that they have received notice of resignation, and that they are now working to find a date for the mediation.

– I hope and believe that the parties will be able to reach an agreement in the mediation. We are betting that everyone will get to see both Captain Sabeltann and Julius this summer, says Ruland.
