Crime and justice: This is according to the Danish police on Sunday. The airport in Billund, close to Legoland, was closed for many hours on Saturday due to a bomb threat.

The explosion was carried out near the town of Hejnsvig, in an area where it was considered safe.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in the case. He was remanded in custody on Sunday until 17 May.

According to the police, the man had handed in an object at the airport and said it contained explosives.

The bomb threat came on Saturday morning, and the airport – the second largest in Denmark – was evacuated. Pictures from the scene showed an arrested man being led away in handcuffs.

The Danish Armed Forces’ explosives experts worked at the airport together with the police, and bomb dogs were also called out. On Saturday evening, it was reported that the police had removed an object from the airport which the suspects could have contained explosives.
