The community of productive adults is inaugurated at Hacienda El Buen Vivir, in Los Lirios, Arteaga: “in youth we learn, in old age we undertake”
In the vicinity of the Sierra de arteagaspecifically in the ejido Los Lirioswhere is the Hacienda El Buen Vivira community dedicated to environmental conservation, cultural and spiritual promotion, and where workshops, retreats, and activities that promote entrepreneurship are offered.
That’s where the project started. Older Adults Producersthrough which it seeks to promote the entrepreneurship among the regional community of adults aged 50 and over who live in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.

Joel Gámez Garza spoke about the importance of the adult being productive in order to be self-sufficient.
“This project is a dream that has been taking shape years ago so that adults have support, backing, since in the end we have earned it, we want to live a dignified, generative old age that helps us to do what what we really want to do”, said the architect Joel Gamezowner of the Hacienda and promoter of the program.
He pointed out that a large percentage of older adults living in retirement or retirement face mental health effects because when they stop working their income decreases, access to health and nutrition services is difficultas well as latent benefits of employability such as intellectual and physical activity and recognition in society are lost.
“We as older adults face retirement and it is not because we want to stop working or because we are in conditions that prevent us from doing or generating, with retirement we obtain the freedom to do what we really want;
Productive adult products from the Los Lirios region were offered.
“Throughout our lives we have developed skillsskills, and trades that we have practiced and many times we give away our work to give it to our children, grandchildren, but here we want to teach them that we can market those products or services”, emphasized Gámez.
This program offers support through the World Entrepreneurship Association Seniors 50+a non-profit platform that empowers the entrepreneurial entrepreneur aged 50 and over.
“This is a community that supports them to offer their products, if they have a percentage of contributions from the 7% because there are expenses that have to be covered such as staff, driver, services and among others, we will promote the products among the visitors who come to this farmwe will privilege the consumption of these products because they belong to our older adults”, he added.

Authorities such as the head of the Coahuila Ministry of Tourism, Azucena Ramosthe mayor of the municipality of Arteaga, Ramiro Duran Garcia and Raul Rodarte Leos from the Saltillo Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV), who expressed their support for promoting the eco-tourism center.

Around 15 producers of arteaga and New Lionwho offered gastronomic products such as apple liqueurs, cane, regional sweets, regional bread, as well as handmade items.
Myrna Elia Garciageneral director of the State Institute for the Elderly in Nuevo León, emphasized that Mexico recently signed before the Inter-American Convention for the Protection of the Rights of Older Adults a commitment that establishes the surveillance and permanent care of those aged 50 and over.
Ramiro Durán García, mayor of Arteaga, highlighted the importance of learning from adults.
