Policy: Several control bodies suspect that Meta’s moderation does not go far enough to stop the widespread spread of political advertising that risks undermining electoral processes, writes the British the newspaper. It is expected that the European Commission will issue a statement on the matter on Monday.

It is not expected that the commission will point directly to Russia as the source of the disinformation being spread, but will refer to the manipulation of information by foreign actors.

Several countries, including Great Britain, Austria and Georgia, will hold elections this year. In addition, the election to the EU Parliament will be held in June.
