Spider’s lead guitarist Napie died at Sungai Buloh Hospital around 3:45 this morning due to a stroke.
Napie or Hanafi Hamdan breathed his last at the age of 51.
The manager of Spider, Azmi, confirmed the matter, who also said that the deceased was taken to the hospital after being reported to be in a weak state.
“He had had a stroke for a long time before. This morning the deceased was said to be weak and the family took him to the hospital.
“The deceased died at the hospital around 3.45 am,” he said.
Napie was previously admitted to the hospital last July due to a stroke.
The vocalist of the group, Tam, also shared the news that Napie survived the operation on July 27.
The remains are still in the hospital before being taken to the Cahaya Iman Mosque, Bandar Country Homes, Rawang for the management of the remains at 9 am.
The remains are expected to be buried at Bandar Country Homes Islamic Cemetery, Rawang, Selangor after Friday prayers. – Agency
