The king offers his condolences to Papua New Guinea after the landslide

Curiosities and celebrities: – I am deeply saddened to hear about the landslide that caused such extensive destruction and claimed so many lives in the Enga province of Papua New Guinea, says the king in a statement from the Castle.

Papua New Guinea is an island nation in the western Pacific just north of Australia.

– On behalf of myself and the people of Norway, I send you my deepest condolences and ask you to convey my condolences and my sympathy to the bereaved, to those otherwise affected by this terrible natural disaster, and to the people of Papua New Guinea .

The island state was hit by a landslide on the night of Friday last week. Over 2,000 people are believed to be buried in the earth masses. Six villages were affected by the landslide and it is believed that over 7,900 people were evacuated from villages. The UN said on Tuesday that it did not think it was likely to find more survivors.
