Culture and entertainment: According to the survey, 13 per cent respond that the elderly are “very under-represented”, while a further 41 per cent believe that they are “somewhat under-represented”.

Altogether, 54 per cent answer one of the two categories. Only five percent believe that the elderly are overrepresented in the media image.

But it is not only the population as a whole that thinks this. Also among Norwegian journalists, the majority (52 per cent) believe that older people are underrepresented.

The editors, on the other hand, are less categorical: 38 per cent believe the elderly are underrepresented, but slightly more believe they are adequately represented in the media image.

The survey, which was carried out by Respons Analyze on behalf of Nordic Media Days, will be presented at the media days on 2 May.
