Sport: The future of national team players such as Kristian Thorstvedt, Marcus Holmgren Pedersen and Sander Berge became a topic when Solbakken met the press at the Ullevaal stadium on Sunday.

Solbakken made no secret of the fact that he believes things should happen around several of them during the summer.

– I think Thorstvedt is going to change clubs, and he needs it. Sassuolo looked weak for a long time, said the national team manager.

– We’ll see what the new regime there (at Feyenoord) says, Solbakken said.

Feyenoord is now losing its successful coach Arne Slot to Liverpool. Thus, the new cost enters the honorary division club.

In addition to the aforementioned Thorstvedt, Solbakken was clear that Sander Berge should also find a new club in the future. The midfield profile moved down from the Premier League with Burnley this season.

According to the national team manager, it is not unusual for the players to discuss their own future with him. The initiative for such meetings can come from both sides, including himself.

– I do, and many people also seek me out. Just now I have had ten minutes with Alexander Sørloth. Sometimes I take a little initiative too, said Solbakken on Sunday.

Norway will meet Kosovo and Denmark in private international matches in the future. Kosovo is the opponent next Wednesday, while Denmark waits three days after that.

The former match will be played at Ullevaal Stadium, while the latter will be played at Brøndby Stadium in Copenhagen.

The matches are a run-up to the autumn’s national league.

He further pointed out that Holmgren Pedersen, who has been on loan from Feyenoord to Sassuolo this season, is now returning to the Netherlands. The transition could have become permanent if Sassuolo had saved their place in Serie A.

Sørloth has had a great season at Villarreal. It is not inconceivable that bigger clubs will try to sign him this summer.
