The relief team distributed more than 800 food boxes

LEZAGPI, NOV 1 – Brunei Darussalam’s Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) Mission continued on the sixth day with the implementation of the first flight task from the second team using two Blackhawk S70i helicopters of the Royal Brunei Air Force (TUDB).

Two air transport flights were completed today and a total of 824 food aid boxes were flown from Naga Airport to the affected areas around Sumaoy Island.

Meanwhile, the first team using TUDB’s C295MW transport aircraft carried out shuttle flights carrying passengers and tarps from Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Manila to Bicol International Airport, Luzon.

The second team for this mission arrived at the Old Legazpi Airport at 2:50 pm local time yesterday. The two-day flight made six refueling stops, including an overnight stay in Zamboanga, before continuing to its final destination.

The arrival of the troops was welcomed by the Group Commander, Tactical Operations Group 5, Philippine Air Force, Colonel Romulo Y Dilag TUF.

Efforts for air logistics assistance in the affected areas will continue tomorrow subject to the current weather conditions.
