BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 11 – As an effort to instill the value of volunteerism and charity among students, a total of 15 students from Sekolah Tunas Jaya PGGMB Lambak went on a study tour and did charity work at the Center for Disabled Children’s Association (KACA) in Kampung Kiulap , recently.
The visit was made under the Community Outreach School Program which gives the students the opportunity to do charity work while waiting for the results of the Primary School Assessment (PSR) examination.
During the study tour, the students had the opportunity to do charity work including organizing books, office files, cleaning rooms and packing toys.
In addition, they also had the opportunity to increase their knowledge and experience about the members and teaching staff of CACA through a briefing delivered by Cikgu Hajah Fauziah binti Haji Awang Besar, a teaching staff at the center.
The group was also joined by the head teacher of STJ PGGMB Lambak, Cikgu Haji Roslan bin Haji Md Hassan. Commenting on the visit, he stated that it aims to foster a responsible and caring attitude towards the disabled and special needs community and train the students as helpers.
