Sport: Kristin Venn scored the decisive goal in an open goal. She did that with just over 30 seconds left on the clock.

Storhamar scored the semi-final’s first and last goal in Graz, Austria. Between them they were never in the lead.

On Sunday, the Hamar team plays the final against Romanian Gloria Bistrita.

A free throw and a sending off contributed to Neptune’s Nantes losing the upper hand on the match. The French team took a break at 16-12.

For a long period, both teams struggled with a goal drought. Ane Cecilie Høgseth broke it for Storhamar after just five minutes.

Anniken Obaidli became Storhamar’s top scorer with nine perfect hits.

The Norwegian duo Helene Fauske and Mari Finstad Bergum were part of the Nantes squad on Saturday.

Sola disappeared from the tournament after the quarter-final loss to Dunarea Braila from Romania.

Until this year, Norway had not had a finalist in the Europa League since Vipers Kristiansand in 2018. Then there was a Norwegian loss over two final matches. Before that, Tertnes was in the 2000 final.

No Norwegian team has won the second most prestigious European Cup.

After the break, Storhamar showed a good will to attack. Several times they were only two goals behind, and towards the end only one score was the difference. It offered a drama Storhamar coped with best.

In March, Storhamar won both quarter-final matches against German Thuringia. Overall, it was 72-61. In the pool play, Kenneth Gabrielsen’s team took five victories in six attempts.
