On Wednesday, 14-year-old Colt Gray, a student of a local school, opened fire inside the building in the US state of Georgia. Reuters reports on the death of two schoolchildren and two teachers. Nine people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
The school where the shooting took place is located in Winder, 80 kilometers northeast of Atlanta.
The shooter was detained. He did not resist during the arrest.
Enhanced security measures have been imposed in the city, and the school building has been cordoned off.
In recent decades, there have been many shootings in public places in the United States, particularly at schools and colleges. This has raised questions among the public about tightening the rules on civilian gun ownership or banning it entirely.
