Three suspects involved in prostitution were arrested in the raid

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 31 OCT – Three suspects involved in prostitution were arrested by the Gambling Suppression Investigation Unit, Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) in a recent raid.

The suspects consist of two foreign national women believed to be engaged in activities offering sex services while a foreign national man suspected of acting as a father to the women was arrested in a raid on October 29 at a hotel in the Gadong area.

Also found at the raid site were evidence materials such as mobile phones, Brunei and foreign currency estimated at BND $500, condoms and lubricant believed to be used for the purpose of the immoral activity.

All the suspects were then taken to the Criminal Investigation Department to be investigated under Section 294A Offense of Offering Sex Services of the Criminal Penal Code Chapter 22b and Section 3(1)(a) Protection of Women and Girls Chapter 120 which is the offense of selling women for prostitution.

The police would like to advise the public to be able to cooperate and provide any type of information by sharing it to the emergency line 993 or any nearby police station and can be channeled via e-mail on the PPDB website www.polis.gov.bn or Instagram @ upa.ppdb.
