Treasure Navigator emerged champion of the Scavenger Hunt Event

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 24 – A total of 60 teams participated in the Scavenger Hunt Event organized by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) in conjunction with World Maritime Day 2024 which took place in the Parking Area in front of the Royal Instruments Museum, Bandar Seri Begawan, on this.

Agreeing to go to participate in the event is Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Pengiran Anak Sarah and other royal family members.

Present to complete the inauguration of the event was the Permanent Deputy Secretary (Transport), Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar. Also present were the management and staff of MPABD.

In his welcome speech, the Chief Executive of MPABD, Captain (B) Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman emphasized the goal of the Scavenger Hunt event which combines education, fun and community spirit.

He welcomed the presence of the participants who together made the event a success where it was the closing of the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Week 2024 which was extraordinary.

Today’s event, he added, was not just a competition but it was to unite everyone as a community.

The event is a reminder of the spirit of cooperation and friendship that defines our maritime family, he added.

In addition, he also encouraged all participants to face each challenge with creativity, perseverance and collaboration and hoped that they would enjoy enjoying the unique experience.

A total of 60 teams have registered in the event where each team includes five people. The game faced by the participants included solving clues and navigating the various checkpoints provided around Bandar Seri Begawan.

The fun activity saw the participants complete various challenges and advance in the event.

The Treasure Navigator team emerged as champions of the event and took home a cash prize of $2,500, a trophy and a medal. Meanwhile, Budiman’s Rep Team placed second and took home $1,500 in cash, a trophy and a medal. Team 3 Suku took third place and took home a cash prize of $1,000, a trophy and a medal.

In addition, seven consolation prizes were also awarded where each team received a medal, trophy and $250 in cash.

The Scavenger Hunt event marked the completion of Brunei Darussalam Maritime Week 2024 (BDMW 2024) which was held from 19 to 21 November at Bridex, Jerudong.

MPABD remains committed to organizing events that encourage community involvement and promote the interests of the maritime sector.
