Policy: In an interview with CNN, lawyer Todd Blanche says that Trump will try to reverse Thursday’s decision, in which the former president was found guilty on all 34 counts of violating the accounting law.

Blanche signals that Trump will take action after the trial, what in American law is called “post-trial motions”. This differs from a normal appeal process, where the case is brought before an appeal court, through the fact that they are brought before the court that heard the case.

– If that is not successful, we will appeal the case as soon as we can. In the process in New York, there is a sentencing, and then we can appeal after that, says Blanche.

The sentencing will take place on July 11, said Judge Juan Merchan after the jury in the court in Manhattan had delivered its verdict on Thursday.
