Tyler Adams may leave Leeds United for Champions League club

Stuart Holden believes that Tyler Adams may leave Leeds United for a Champions League club at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old was in exceptional form for the United States side as they held England to a 0-0 draw at the World Cup on 25 November.

Pundits waxed lyrical over him and the Fox Sports pundit went a step further and stated that he could be on his way out if he ends the season like he’s started it.

Via Twitter, Holden wrote, “Tyler Adams has been outstanding at the World Cup. If he finishes the Premier League season the way he started it, he’ll be off to a top level Champions League team. What a player.”

Adams has taken his game to the next level this season and we believe that it’s down to Jesse Marsch and the terrific coaches at the club.

Sure, he does strike us as a player who deserves to play in the Champions League, but the Whites will not be selling him after one season.

He moved to Elland Road in the summer for £20million and was seen as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips even though he’s not a like-for-like player. [Guardian]

He has hit the ground running and it can be argued that he’s been the best signing for Leeds over the last two years.

If he does want to leave and a Champions League club is intent on paying up for him, Leeds will surely demand no less than £50million.

No club competing in Europe’s elite competition that are viewed as bigger sides than the Whites will find that too expensive a price to pay.

He is a young player on a good contract and will offer a huge resale value as well so he’s an important asset not just on the pitch but also for the financial stability of the club.

In other Leeds United news, a first-team defender may not have long left at Elland Road after “Awful” footage emerges from this month, making a January transfer imperative.
