Be patient, because the end of the week should see the return of clearings and sunshine across the entire country, after a week with France often divided in two or three.
Monday: rains over most of the country
Like previous days, this Monday will be marked by rain and gray weather over a large part of the country. On an axis going from the Pyrenees to the north-east, showers are expected during the day and could shift towards the east as the evening progresses. Temperatures will however be less cool than usual, with values between 11 and 15°C in the northern half, between 12 and 20°C in the southern half.
Be careful, however, if you are in Saône-et-Loire, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Haute-Loire and Rhône: these six departments are placed on orange alert in the wind for the day. “Uncertainty still exists over a geographical extension of the phenomenon with strong gusts which may concern the neighboring departments of those placed in orange and in particular northern Isère. An extension of orange vigilance is not completely excluded at this stage,” explains Météo France.
Tuesday: the sun returns
Goodbye rain, the sun could well make an appearance again, despite the prominence of clouds in the sky. Be vigilant in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region: if the afternoon will give way to a cloudy sky, stormy showers are to be feared in the morning, particularly around Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône).
In the rest of the country, expect cloudy skies and some sunny spells for the lucky ones. The mercury will rise to 17°C in Perpignan and Corsica; expect values between 8 and 14°C in other regions.
Wednesday: rain in the north and sun in the south
A France divided into three meteorologically. Wednesday will be marked by rain north of a line between La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) and Reims (Marne). The Bordeaux-Strasbourg axis will see the sun between the clouds, while from Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) to Lyon (Rhône), the sun will be a very warm guest after having played behind the clouds in the morning.
Temperatures should range between 9°C near Belfort (Territoire de Belfort) and 17°C for the southern cities most bathed in sunshine, namely Biarritz, Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées), Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). ) and Ajaccio (South Corsica). In the Paris region, we will have 12°C between drops. Similar values are expected in Centre-Val de Loire and Normandy.
Thursday: from 5 to 20°C, the big difference in mercury
The south of the country will once again see temperatures above seasonal norms, with the mercury could rise to 20°C in Corsica, 18°C in Marseille or even 19°C in Perpignan. Figures which contrast with the rest of the country, since the northern half will struggle to exceed 10°C. Between Chaumont (Haute-Marne) and Belfort, the thermometer should not even show more than 5°C at the best of the day.
With the exception of rain in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the Grand Est and the north of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the rest of France will benefit from clearings, even a clear sun for the southernmost cities, always on an axis going from Biarritz to Nice.
Friday: forget the rain, the good weather is back
While the first part of the week saw sunny spells slalom between showers, it seems that the weekend will be milder. No showers to report for Friday, with the exception of Corsica and western Brittany.
In the rest of the country, there will be a choice of sunny spells or full sun. Enough to bring balm to the heart after these gray days. As in previous days, we will have to deal with temperatures ranging from 5 to 11°C in the northern half, while the South will benefit from generous values between 8 and 18°C.
Next weekend: clearings and sunshine on the agenda across the country
Far from the previous weekend, rainy and gloomy over a large part of the country, next Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunnier with the arrival of the month of December. Only the west of Brittany could face a few showers during the day on Saturday, but the sun should return on Sunday. In terms of temperatures, expect between 5 and 10°C over most of the country, but much warmer values will be felt on an axis going from Biarritz to Nice, around 15°C.
