MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –
Arrest warrant served: Engle Road
A wanted Cleveland man, 26, was arrested at about 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at Crowne Plaza, 7230 Engle Road.
Someone had called police about two guests – one late identified as the Cleveland man, the other a 22-year-old Youngstown woman – arguing with the hotel’s housekeeping staff.
Police arrived and checked the identifications of the man and woman. The man was wanted in Cleveland for burglary.
Driving with a suspended license: Pearl Road
A Cleveland man, 57, was cited at about 2 p.m. Nov. 15 for driving with a suspended license and carrying an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.
Police noticed the man driving southbound on Pearl. His car’s muffler was loud. They checked his license plate number and learned that the plate had expired in August.
Police pulled over the man’s car on Pearl near Robert Drive. He did not have a driver’s license and knew that his license had been suspended.
Police found an open can of beer under the car’s driver’s seat. The man admitted drinking from the can but field sobriety tests determined that he was not impaired.
Arrest warrant served: Engle Road
A wanted Brook Park man, 32, was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Motel 6, 7219 Engle.
The man’s brother called police and said the man was in a second-floor room at Motel 6. He said his brother had ingested cocaine earlier and had threatened him with a knife.
Police learned the man was wanted in Middleburg Heights for falsification. They knocked on his hotel room door and he answered. They placed him in handcuffs.
On the drive to jail, the man complained of chest pains, so police took him to Southwest General Health Center on Bagley Road. He was taken to jail after hospital staff cleared him medically.
Arrest warrant served: Bagley Road
A wanted Cleveland woman, 25, was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11 after she arrived at the Middleburg Heights police station to pick up her car, which had been towed.
Police, after checking the woman’s driver’s license, discovered that she was wanted in Westlake for obstructing justice. She was handed over to Westlake police.
Shoplifting: Southland Drive
A Parma woman, 67, was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 15 after she was caught stealing $269 in groceries from Giant Eagle, 6869 Southland.
A Giant Eagle security guard saw the woman pay for some merchandise at a self-checkout register. However, she didn’t scan several other items.
