BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 5 – His Royal Highness His Majesty Pengiran Muda Crown Prince Pengiran Muda (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department agreed to complete the awarding of the ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma’ to 20 graduates , namely 15 male and five female students, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute (ITQSHHB), which took place in the Main Conference Hall, International Conference Center (ICC), Berakas today.
Leaving at the same time is His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik.
The departure of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at the 12th Haflut Takharruj ITQSHHB ceremony was celebrated by the Minister of Religious Affairs as chairman of the institute’s board, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Director Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
Also honoring the departure were the Chief Syari’e Judge, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as Chairman of the ITQSHHB Supreme Committee, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; and Acting Principal of ITQSHHB, Awang Mohammad Ali Sabri bin Haji Yusof.
The ceremony began with the performance of memorizing the holy verses of the Quran, Surah Al-Balad, verses 1 to 20 with Al-Bazzi’s Narration from Ibnu Kathir delivered by Dayang Awadah binti Awang Mohamad Ariffin.
While the essence of the verse was read by Dayang Nurqamariah binti Kepli.
The awarding of the Diploma of ‘Aliyah Qira’at (Certificate) this time consists of 11 recipients of the rank of Mumtaz (Excellent); six recipients of the rank of Jayyid Jiddan (Very Good); a recipient of the rank of Jayyid (Good); and two Maqbul rank recipients (Passed).
The ceremony continued with a speech from the representative of the Syahadah (Certificate) Diploma of ‘Aliyah Qira’at delivered by Dayang Nurmazrina binti Abdul Mahmod. While the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar was recited by the students of Year 1 of the ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma.
Doa Selamat was then read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya His Royal Highness Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.
The event was held to celebrate the graduates of the ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma and in recognition of the success of the students in the field of Al-Quran memorization and the science of Qira’at.
This at the same time realizes the vision of the institute as an institution of tahfiz and the development of Al-Quran which is the best at the national, regional and international level.
The establishment of ITQSHHB is by order of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in conjunction with His Majesty’s 46th Birthday Celebration on 15 July 1992.
It is an institution for studying Al-Quran tahfiz at the secondary and diploma level that combines Al-Quran memorization and Al-Quran sciences as a basis alongside other subjects.
In addition, it is now more advanced with the establishment of the ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma Program in August 2010.
From 2014 until now, the institute has produced a total of 242 ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma graduates.
