WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita Habitat for Humanity is known for building homes. But it also does repair work.
On Friday, the nonprofit announced that Lowe’s donated a $37,680 grant to help with critical home repairs.
Wichita Habitat for Humanity’s Home Repair Program focuses on problems that threaten the health, safety, and accessibility of local homeowners. The grant will support work on seven Wichita homes with critical repair needs. The repairs include replacing siding and porches, repainting exteriors, installing new roofs, and addressing plumbing and electrical issues to ensure safety and code compliance.
Team members and volunteers will also “clean up debris and restore a sense of dignity and pride to the homes.”
“We are deeply grateful to have been awarded this grant from Lowe’s and for the opportunity to advance the mission of Wichita Habitat for Humanity,” Jodi Suhler, Wichita Habitat for Humanity’s home repair manager, said in a news release. “This generous support empowers us to continue our work in providing affordable housing to families in Sedgwick County, helping us make a lasting impact in the community.”
The repair program serves over 30 families each year.
