Wichita State cheerleaders team up with neighbor for Halloween display

Wichita State cheerleaders team up with neighbor for Halloween display

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – It’s Halloween, and Wichita got into the spooky spirit, and one house in particular is taking it up a notch. The house was “Alice and Wonderland”-themed, and it took things to the next level.

What better way to bring in the Halloween spirit than with a cheer team

“We were excited when they said yes ’cause they have all the spirit that we want as part of this,” said homeowner Bryan Fisher.

Elise LeGrand is part of Wichita State University’s cheer team. She dressed up as the queen of hearts.

“Just kind of out of the blue, I think I wasn’t even home when he knocked on our door and asked us if this is something we’d want to do, but our roommates heard about it, and they were like, ‘OK this could be fun,'” said LeGrand.

Between costumes and make-up, it’s an all-hands-on-deck operation.

“We watched ‘Alice and Wonderland,’ the og from 1951 and then also the newer one, so we were doing some character study,” said LeGrand.

The “Alice and Wonderland” theme will remain the same.

The cheer team will be graduating, but I hope to pass the baton to the next class.

“It’s like no other Halloween anywhere else,” said Fisher.

The house owner tells me he and the team passed out glowsticks to save money.
