Woman loses purse at bar: Brunswick Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK, Ohio

Missing property, Skyview Drive

A woman reported her purse missing at 4:21 a.m. Nov.7. She told police she had gotten a Lyft ride home from a bar and was unsure if she left her purse at the bar or inside the Lyft vehicle. Police contacted the Lyft driver, Arnold YANCEY, who stated the purse was not in his vehicle.

Impaired driver, Center Road

A driver in a blue Ford Ranger was seen changing lanes in traffic without signaling and causing several vehicles to have to brake to avoid an accident at 12:30 a.m. Nov. 16. The man was pulled over, failed field sobriety tests and registered more than twice the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test. He also had a prior conviction for operating a motor vehicle impaired. He was cited for OVI and taken home by police.

Fraud, Morlee Drive

A woman reported called police at 2:31 a.m. Oct. 31 to report an unauthorized purchase on her EBT card for a total $294.  The card was canceled and the woman was issued a new card and provided an identity theft packet.

Identity theft, Stanford Drive

A man reported to police at 11:31 a.m. Nov. 5 that over the past six months and unknown person used his identity to purchase a phone through Verizon wireless and purchased $4,740 worth of products from AT&T. The man said he is currently not out any money and requests the report for documentation purposes.

Criminal damaging, Skyview Drive

The property manager at Forest Hills Apartments reported criminal damage to the locking mechanism on the garage door to the maintenance shed on the property between 4 p.m. Nov. 6 and 8 a.m. Nov. 7. The deadbolt styled external locking device was removed with unknown tools, with no damage left to the door or frame. At the time of the report, it did not appear any entry was made into the shed and no items are missing. The approximate cost to replace the lock was estimate at $40, and there were no suspects at the time of the report.  A special attention detail was placed on the property for two weeks.
