NIAGARA FALLS, New York — A mother and her two young children are missing after the woman reportedly climbed over a safety guard rail with the kids and jumped into Niagara Falls, police say.
A news release from New York State Police says Chianti Means, 33, Roman Rossman, 9, and 5-month-old Mecca Means, all of Niagara Falls, went into the water at about 9 p.m. Tuesday from Luna Island, which is located at the brink of the American Falls.
The woman and her children have not been found despite a search-and-rescue effort.
Police believe Chianti Means went into the water intentionally with her children but are continuing to investigate.
