BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 8 – A total of 1,007 participants from the Citizens Organization (PW) across the country participated in the Khatam Al-Quran Mjalis 78 times Khatam in conjunction with the celebration of the Birthday Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu ‘izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at Az-Zakireen Mosque, Meragang National Housing Plan, today.
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony was the Chief Justice of Syar’ie, His Excellency the Honorable Pehin Orang Kaya His Royal Highness Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Haji Besar.
At the event, PW’s Yang Di-Pertua and Chairman of the Khatam Al-Quran Council (MKAQ), Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don in his welcome speech, explained, among other things, that such an event is the sixth year organized by PW since 2019.
“This event is held to show gratitude to God and to show loyalty as His Majesty’s people,” he added.
In addition, he also shared that this year’s participation in the Al-Quran Khatam Program (RKAQ) and MKAQ uses the RKAQ and MKAQ reading methods which require participants to read 30 parts of the Quran and some read in groups according to the prescribed halaqah, which is as many as 61 halaqah.
The initiative of high, persistent and starting and implementing team work in a ‘repetitive’ manner made by PW in collaboration with senior citizens groups across the country has taken a visionary step to read the Quran and present as a special worshiper in front of His Majesty the King every year.
“In addition, in conjunction with the month of Rabiulawal, which is the month of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, to pray together to pray for intercession in the afterlife,” he explained.
The ceremony began with the recitation of surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honor followed by the recitation of prayers and surah Ad-Duha to Surah An-Nas led by Haji Ali Hassan bin Haji Ahmad; Haji Shahbirin bin Haji Mohd Noor; and Haji Mohd Hussin bin Haji Mohd Salleh; and bilal of the mosque; Mohd Ali Ilmam bin Sujono, during the reading of Takhtim by Citizens of the Organization of Citizens.
The recitation of the Al-Quran Khatam Prayer was read by Haji Alihassan bin Haji Ahmad and the ceremony was graced with Dikir Marhaban by Wargawira PW.
