176 SASHHB students were celebrated in the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 10 – A total of 176 Year 6 students of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arab School (SASHHB) were celebrated in the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony which took place in the school’s multi-purpose hall, this morning.

Present as guests of honor at the ceremony were the Director of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, special guests from the Department of Islamic Studies as well as parents and guardians of students.

The purpose of the event is to nurture the students to be steadfast in accompanying the Al-Quran as a guide for life, in addition to strengthening cooperation between the school and parents in an effort to guide students towards excellence in the world and the hereafter.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honor, followed by the recitation of the Prayer Before Reading the Quran by Awang Abdul Thaqif Al-Mahfuz bin Mohd Hamdi.

Next, the ceremony saw the celebrated students also perform recitations of common surahs and Takhtim Al-Quran recitations by Year 10 students before being followed by Doa Khatam Al-Quran by Awang Mohammad Adli Hafizh bin Ali.

The ceremony was also graced with the recitation of Dikir Marhaban by Year 10 students before the presentation of certificates to the khatam participants by the guest of honor.

The event was held as an effort to produce people literate in the Al-Quran and make the reading of the Al-Quran a culture, in line with the desire to form a generation of Al-Quran and a nation of remembrance.
