FC Schalke 04 has suffered another setback in the 2nd Bundesliga, while Karlsruher SC is at least temporarily top of the table. The Gelsenkirchen team lost 0:2 (0:1) to the Baden team. Georgia’s national striker Budu Siwsiwadze (45th+3rd and 73rd minute) scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season in front of 31,845 spectators in the Wildpark, putting KSC in the lead for the time being. Schalke remained winless in their fourth league game in a row and could slip into the bottom third of the table over the course of the weekend.

Siwsiwadse takes advantage of chaos in Schalke’s defense

The opening phase clearly belonged to KSC. Schalke only found their way into the game in the middle of the first half – but without becoming dangerous. Karlsruhe’s Fabian Schleusener was unlucky when he hit the post (39′). Shortly before the break, the visitors defended poorly, Siwsiwadse kept his eye on things and hit the left corner with a low shot.

At the start of the second half, the hosts pressed hard for a 2-0 lead, but Schleusener missed a huge chance (47th minute). In the 73rd minute, the attacker also failed to get the ball over the line, but his teammate Siwsiwadze scored and made the decision.
