2. Bundesliga: Last-minute equaliser: HSV saves 2:2 in Kaiserslautern

Thanks to a last-minute goal by Davie Selke in injury time, Hamburger SV secured a point against 1. FC Kaiserslautern after being 2-0 down on the 6th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. The traditional duel ended in a 2-2 (0-1) draw.

The 49,327 spectators in the sold-out Fritz-Walter Stadium saw a game with few chances in the first half. For Hamburg, Robert Glatzel missed the guests’ best chance after 18 minutes. FCK keeper Julian Krahl made a strong save from close range. On the other side, Ragnar Ache did better, converting a cross from Erik Wekesser in the 33rd minute to give Kaiserslautern a 1-0 lead at halftime.

After the restart, it was FCK who struck again. After an assist from Aaron Opoku, Richmond Tachie scored in the 50th minute to make it 2-0. But HSV came back into the game. Glatzel took advantage of a mistake by Krahl after a corner to make it 1-2 (59th minute). Five minutes later, Ache could have made it 3-1, but shot the ball wide of the goal. In the final phase, Hamburg pressed hard for an equalizer. In stoppage time, Krahl was able to parry a shot from Jean-Luc Dompé. In the fifth minute of extra time, however, it was Selke who headed in a cross from Karabec to make it 2-2, much to the delight of Hamburg.
