KOTA KINABALU, 13 SEPT – A total of 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the national level Malaysia Day 2024 celebration ceremony held at Padang Merdeka on 16 September, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Christina Liew.

He who is also the Co-Chairman of the 2024 Malaysia Day Celebration Main Committee said while waiting for the main event to start, the pre-performance will start as early as 5pm to 7:30pm interspersed with the arrival of guests and featuring artist performances.

“The special appearance of the superhero mascot in the area of ​​the post-performance event site will continue after the fireworks display and the departure of the guests of honor,” he said at a press conference today.

Liew said that among the events scheduled to take place that night was the signing of the Special Book for the celebration of Malaysia Day 2024 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim; Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor witnessed by Liew; and Malaysian Communications Minister, Fahmi Fadzil as Co-Chairman of the 2024 Malaysia Day Celebration Main Committee.

He said to bless the celebration, the Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS) will organize a yasin recitation ceremony and doa selamat today at the Nurul Hikmah Mosque, Bukit Padang.

Liew said followers of other religions are also encouraged to pray together for the well-being and security of the country according to their respective beliefs. – Named
