BINTULU, SEPT 12 – A total of 350 longhouse residents in Sungai Labang, Sebauh, were left with nothing left when their homes were destroyed in a fire this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire Operations Operations Center said they received a call about the incident at 3:32pm.
“A team of firefighters from the Bintulu and Samalaju Fire and Rescue Stations (BBP) were dispatched to the scene of the incident.
“On arrival at the location, they found that the 23-door Nura House was 100 percent on fire.
All occupants are safe and no injuries were reported,” he said in a statement today.
According to the spokesperson, the fire was brought under control at 5pm and the cause and total loss are still under investigation. – Named
