FC Energie Cottbus has achieved its first away win of the season in the 3rd football league. The team from Lusatia won 3-0 (2-0) against SC Verl on Sunday after a superior game. Maximilian Krauß put Energie in the lead in the 20th minute, and in the 77th minute the midfielder also put the finishing touches to the well-deserved victory for coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz’s team. In between, Tolcay Cigerci had set the course for victory in the 55th minute. Verl’s Fabio Gruber was shown the yellow-red card in the 86th minute.

Cottbus moved past its previously unbeaten opponent in the table. With six points after five games, the promoted team is on target to be ninth in the table. Next Saturday, Energie will play a home game against VfB Stuttgart II, a home duel with another league newcomer who has already managed to score eight points.
