BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 5 – A total of 49 participants consisting of department heads, chief executive officers, and medical superintendents from the Ministry of Health as well as the private healthcare sector, including Jerudong Park Medical Center (JPMC) and Jerudong Coast Specialist Center (PJSC), have received their respective certificates at the Closing Ceremony of the Healthcare Leadership Executive Program (HLEP), today.
The ceremony which took place in the Multi-Purpose Room, Dewan An-Naura, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, in the capital is a collaborative initiative program between the Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam, and Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd (SingHealth), Singapore.
Present as the guest of honor to present the certificates to the participants was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin.
The program integrates management and leadership components, specifically tailored to the healthcare industry.
It aims, among other things, to equip potential leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to take on leadership roles as well as to improve participants’ understanding of the administrative and management functions in healthcare organizations.
The program is divided into two phases of training sessions, the first phase, which took place last May, involving a series of workshops and activities on the fundamentals of leadership and management.
The second phase, which begins in August, focuses on healthcare management and the practical application of knowledge and skills through group projects.
It is intended to provide talent for the Ministry of Health by gathering the appropriate skills and knowledge to take on leadership responsibilities as well as to improve capabilities in leading strategic healthcare development initiatives.
Also present were the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional), Dr Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Gharif; Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services, Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail; and the officials and staff at the Ministry of Health.
