BELAIT, 4 SEPT – A total of 492 outstanding students and teachers from Mukim Lumut Liang and Belait District have received awards as part of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd’s (Brunei LNG) annual Outstanding Academic Awards for the years 2021 to 2024 held to commemorate their academic achievements in examinations .
The ceremony that took place at Pusat Insani, Seria today is part of the company’s social investment initiative under the theme Education and Youth Empowerment and in line with Brunei Vision 2035 in fostering educational excellence and recognizing outstanding achievements.
The ceremony was divided into two sessions, where the morning session saw a total of 348 recipients consisting of students who achieved excellent results in the Primary School Assessment (PSR), Religious Primary School Certificate (SSSRU), GCE O Level and A Level had received the award presented by the Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education, Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin who was invited as the guest of honor of the ceremony.
In the opening speech delivered as part of Brunei LNG’s leadership team, Finance Manager, Hajah Melissa binti Haji Zainal Abidin emphasized that the close collaboration between parents and educators is a major contribution to the success of students, while celebrating their dedication towards shaping the future generation.
While the afternoon session saw outstanding students from Years 1 to 5 as well as excellent teachers and schools in the district receiving their respective awards from the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, as the guest of honor .
As a major contributor to Brunei Darussalam, Brunei LNG remains committed to building a highly educated and skilled workforce that is essential for the country’s long-term development. With the annual Academic Excellence Award, it works to provide motivation and inspiration to students at all levels of education from primary school to higher education.
