BANGKOK, SEPT 30 – A total of 600 public transport drivers in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket were selected to attend English language training organized by the Thai Tourism Department, aimed at improving the skills of staff in the tourism sector.
The Director General of the Department of Tourism, Jaturon Phakdeewanit said the English language skills development program was designed to improve the ability of tourism staff, especially public transport drivers who play an important role in taking tourists to their chosen destinations.
“If public transport drivers can communicate effectively with international tourists, it will improve the quality of service, create a positive impression and provide a better experience for tourists.
“As the party that is often the first person to meet foreign tourists, their ability to communicate is very important,” he said in a statement here today.
This training aims to improve the driver’s English communication skills, enabling them to communicate more accurately and subsequently improve the level of service to tourists. – Named
