TUTONG, OCT 23 – With the main theme of the 2024 Knowledge Council Celebration which is Dealing with Mental Symptomsa forum in conjunction with the Knowledge Council 2024 for the Tutong District was held at the Brunei Mahad Islam Hall, Tutong District yesterday.
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony was the Attorney General, His Excellency Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib.
Also present were the Deputy Minister (Security and Law), Prime Minister’s Department, Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu as Co-Deputy Chairman of the 2024 Knowledge Council Seminar Work Committee; Members of the National Assembly, the Honorable Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub and the Honorable Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan; heads of departments and divisions; senior officers; government officials and employees; special guests; member of the village consultation council in Tutong District; mosque youth and Muslim women; private parties; lecturers; students from institutes of higher learning and associations and villagers.
Forums with titles Technology and Mental Health: #SharingPositivity #AntiSocial’ that has witnessed the sharing of three panelists from the Assistant Prison Counselor, Prison Department Counseling Service, Ministry of Home Affairs, Awang Fariszal bin Ali; Assistant Professor, Knowledge & Language Improvement Center, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Dr Hajah Ummi Fa’izah binti Haji Abdul Rahman; and the Psychology Officer, Education, Department of Special Education, Ministry of Education, Pengiran Salimatul Sa’ada binti Pengiran Mohd Salleh with the forum chaired by the Religious Officer, Islamic Dakwah Center, Awang Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi.
Among the essences highlighted in the forum which was attended by about 630 people was the importance of spreading awareness about mental health and a positive lifestyle as a shared responsibility that needs to be borne by all parties, especially among the youth in this country. According to the teachings of Islam, physical health and mental health are one of the gifts and favors that every individual must be thankful for and take care of.
The forum session in conjunction with the Knowledge Council 2024 will continue again at the Insani Center, Seria Belait District as the last district and will be delivered by Visiting Professor, Faculty of Usuluddin UNISSA, Professor Dr Ustaz Abdul Somad Batubara tomorrow, 24 October.
Accordingly, the public is welcome to attend the forum which will start at 8.30 am to gain useful knowledge.
