The fire department rescued a drunk 21-year-old from a crane in Lübben (Dahme-Spreewald district). The man had climbed about 30 meters into the air on Sunday evening when he lost his courage, according to the police. He called for help on a cell phone.
According to reports, the fire brigade arrived with a turntable ladder and was able to bring the climber back to safety on the ground. A breathalyzer test showed a breath alcohol level of 1.12 per mille. The 21-year-old was expelled from the premises and charged with trespassing. He will probably also have to pay the costs of the operation.
