90 percent of the agreement to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has been agreed upon, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.

He noted, however, that there are several important issues, and for a cease-fire, it is necessary for Israel and the “Hamas” group, recognized as a terrorist in the USA and the EU, to say “yes” on the rest of the issues.

According to Anthony Blinken, one of the non-agreed issues is the “Philadelphia Corridor” on the southern edge of the Gaza Strip, which borders Egypt.

He said the agreement also has some gaps in the exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

President Joe Biden presented a three-phase cease-fire proposal on May 31, but since then gaps have remained in a final agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages in Gaza.

The extremist group Hamas rejects any Israeli presence in the corridor, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists that Israel will not leave the corridor.
