Fake police officers tried several times on Thursday to defraud Potsdam residents of money. A total of six people reported to the police.
The fraudsters claimed to the people they called that a relative had caused an accident and that bail had to be paid. The criminals were unsuccessful with their scam. According to the police, the unknown perpetrators terminated all calls.
The police filed criminal charges for attempted fraud and initiated further investigations.
