Berlin police are using a photo to search for an 83-year-old man – and are asking the public for help. Hans-Joachim Pfeiffer was out on an e-bike with his wife on Thursday afternoon. The two were riding south on Wendenschloßstraße when his wife lost sight of him at a Shell gas station at number 292, the authorities announced on Friday.

Since then, there has been no trace of the senior. The 83-year-old suffers from dementia and is dependent on medication. He could therefore be in an emergency situation, according to the police.

The missing person is about 175 to 180 cm tall and has a slim build and short dark blonde hair with grey highlights. He is wearing a blue and white checked shirt, dark grey three-quarter length trousers, blue trainers and a white bicycle helmet. He was riding a white ladies’ e-bike made by Kalkhoff with a black saddlebag attached.

Anyone who has seen the man since 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, knows where he is, or has other information can contact the Criminal Investigation Department of Directorate 3 (East) at Poelchaustrasse 1 in 12681 Berlin-Marzahn on (030) 4664-371100 or any other police station. If immediate police action is required, officers ask that you call the police emergency number on 110. (Tsp)
