YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan “Pyunik” club hosted the Slovenian champion “Celje” in the first match of the Conference League playoff round.

After the break, “Pyunik” increased the pressure on the opponent’s goal, and in the 59th minute of the match, Nigerian legionnaire Sani Buhari scored a goal for the Slovenian team with a sharp shot from the corner of the penalty area. In the 65th minute, he could have doubled the advantage of “Pyunik”, but he could not capture the empty goal. In the 67th minute, the goalkeeper of the Slovenian club pushed back Maya’s strong shot with difficulty. Two more minutes later, Otubanjo missed a real scoring opportunity.
Despite the efforts made, “Pyunik” failed to capture the opponent’s goal for the second time, and the game ended with the minimal advantage of the Armenian club, 1:0.
The return match between the teams will take place on August 29.
