Almuth Schult moves to Kansas because of her family

The former national soccer goalkeeper Almuth Schult moved from Hamburger SV to the Kansas City Currents in America for the sake of her family. In an interview with “Bild am Sonntag”, Schult said that soccer is easiest to join with the family in the USA. The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is the world leader in this regard.

Schult praises the many amenities that the club offers mothers. Starting with a minimum wage for players, which increases every year, to special leave for women who want to freeze their eggs for a later pregnancy. According to Schulte, the annual salary is currently around 38,000 euros. By 2030, the amount is set to rise to 75,000 euros. The salary for mothers is the highest in the club. In addition, the women footballers are allowed to take their children with them to training or games.
