Linkin Park is back with a new lineup and releasing their first new music since the death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.

Last Thursday, the band began a live stream that introduced new singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, who will join longtime members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn in Linkin Park’s new lineup. Shinoda and Armstrong shared vocal duties.

The new line-up launches a new single, The Emptiness Machineat the start of streaming. Armstrong’s performance style comfortably carries on the band’s legacy: His energetic vocals are reminiscent of Bennington without trying to copy, which is evident on the second song in the set Somewhere I Belong.

“This is a very special day for us,” Shinoda said as he introduced the new members, noting that guitarist Alex Feder was filling in for Delson for the night.

The new Linkin Park also announced their new album, From Zero. It will be released on November 15. – AP
