The super typhoon “Yagi” has in Vietnam According to official figures, at least 22 people were killed and 195 injured. Among the dead was a family of four who were buried when their house collapsed.

The typhoon raged in Vietnam for almost 15 hours. Heavy rain fell in many areaswhich is why authorities warned of landslides and flash floods.

Rescue efforts continued to progress slowly on Sunday. Power was cut off in many parts of the country. More than 3,000 houses were destroyedauthorities said.

Agricultural areas are also affected: 120,000 hectares of rice fields and more than 1,000 fish farms are also said to have been damaged. More than 5,700 trees fell, 2,800 of them in the capital Hanoi. The typhoon had previously passed over the Philippines and South China swept. (dpa)
